What’s Relay For Life?
Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s annual fundraiser for cancer research. It’s basically a cancer walk. The only difference is that it’s ALL NIGHT LONG and at least one member from each team must be walking around the track at all times.
Sounds tough, right? But it’s actually A LOT of fun. At SU’s Relay For Life, there are usually live performances from student a cappella groups and local up-and-coming artists (Ra Ra Riot got their start at SU’s Relay For Life). There is also FREE FOOD and plenty of on-site fundraisers to keep you occupied. They have everything from bake sales and raffles to Guitar Hero and manicure stations. The ROTC will even carry you on a stretcher for your shift on the track for a few bucks. So come out, raise money and awareness about cancer research and have fun! You can commit one night to cancer research in the home of the NUMBER 1 BIG EAST CHAMPIONS, right?
