A-Line Magazine introduces a new weekly blog!

Hello A-Line readers!

Welcome back to a new semester of classes! For all of those who came out to A-Line’s first general interest meeting tonight, I would like to thank all of you for coming and for your interest in the magazine. As it says in the title, A-Line will be updating a weekly blog focusing on Asian and Asian-American issues. Each section editor and staff member of A-Line will be posting throughout the semester, so keep checking the site for any new updates.

As editor-in-chief, I will be writing the first post tonight, which I am pretty excited about doing! As many of you all know, this week has been Fashion’s Night Out Week in New York City, and I figured writing about fashion would be the perfect topic.

In May 2010, Banana Republic announced that a celebrity designer will be creating a new jewelry line for the store.  Banana Republic has partnered up with jewelry designer Chan Luu for a limited-edition collection (which is only being sold exclusively at Edition, an accessories only store that Banana Republic has opened up in California!). Although the store may be in California, Banana Republic has made the jewelry line available as of last month on their website and in stores.

Celebrity Designer Chan Luu is a designer of the fine fashion jewelry and accessories. Originally from Vietnam, Luu moved to Boston and later Los Angeles to earn a degree in Fashion Design at the Fashion Institute of Design. Her designs have been worn by celebrities such as Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, Drew Barrymore and many others.

The  collection will feature  Chan Luu’s signature wrap bracelets of custom-dyed thread or leather with unique semi-precious stones, gold or sterling silver. There are a total of 17 pieces in the collection, which retail for $95 to $225. If you happen to stop by any Banana Republic store, be sure to check out the jewelry section!
Here is a picture of Luu’s bracelets that are being sold at Banana Republic:

Let us know if you find any bracelets at your local Banana Republic store or if you happen to know someone who visited the store in California. We want to know all about it!

Until next Friday, another blogger from A-Line will be posting. Enjoy the weekend!
